A dismembered person could be in a lot of smaller bags, maybe there was other corpsey things too? Our protagonist is pretty dim so for all we know half the damn town got murdered by this stalker while he was sitting there pulling lint out of his bellybutton or whatever it is he does. I assumed the trash bags were pieces of Mrs. Maybe it was a case of “if I can’t have you she can’t”? It’s too coincidental that this stalker just happens to get a hold of Veronica’s phone and sits near the guy at the movies without it. I thought it was pretty clear that Veronica was killed by the same person even if our low IQ protagonist didn’t get suspicious at all. Maybe the stalker was eating them? I know he was living under there for sure. I don’t entirely know why he’d just drop the dude in the middle of the woods at night but it certainly sounds creepy so I’m guessing that’s why.ĭead animals are also creepy. I always interpreted the letter saying the author was running away to be a bad forgery by the stalker. It helps to remember that Penpal was more of an episodic nosleep story and as such might not have had a huge master plan.īut I don’t think it was ever written to be supernatural?
